An “Internist” or Internal Medicine physician is one that specializes in the diagnosis and medical treatment of adults. Internists provide long-term, comprehensive care and manage both common and complex diseases. An internist can serve as a primary care physician or as a consultant to other medical specialists.

Dr. Melanchton “Tony” Mangoba, Board Certified in Internal Medicine, has been practicing  in Riverside for over 10 years.  In his private practice, he provides comprehensive medical care, both in his office and in nursing homes, and cares for patients in hospitals (including intensive care units) when they have to be hospitalized.  Dr. Mangoba often develops long-term relationships with his patients and coordinates and manages treatment, bringing in specialists when there is a need.

He performs examinations, makes diagnoses, treats acute illness (e.g., infections, influenza) and chronic disease (e.g., diabetes, high blood pressure), and also, when needed, incorporates disease prevention and mental health  into the care he provides.

Dr. Mangoba is fluent in both English and Spanish, and communicates clearly with his patients.  Patients have described Dr. Mangoba as a “very patient and caring doctor, who listens to their concerns, and doesn’t rush through the appointment.”  He is beloved by his patients.

He was born in the Philippines and came to the USA when he was a young boy. He has lived in the Inland Empire most of his life. He completed his undergraduate education at California State University San Bernardino. He then matriculated to Loma Linda University where he earned his doctorate degree in Medicine. He did his internship and residency training at Loma Linda University Medical Center Internal Medicine program. Dr. Mangoba is proud to be locally educated and trained. After finishing residency, Dr. Mangoba decided to establish a practice in Riverside. His practice consists of both outpatient and inpatient work. He has privileges at Parkview and Riverside Community Hospital.   Dr. Mangoba believes in actively engaging his patients  with regards to their health. He knows the importance of listening to his patients and educating them on their medical conditions in order to treat them more effectively.  Dr. Mangoba truly enjoys helping his patients achieve a better state of health.

Dr. Mangoba enjoys working with German Shepherd dogs and spending time with family.

A word from our patients

Dr Manogba helped me with my Diabetes, and I was fine within weeks. He’s really great and is my favorite doctor!

What I like about Dr. Mangoba is that he is very patient, and willing to listen to my complaints.  Other doctors seem to hurry me along and don’t really seem to care about me.

Thank you, Dr. Tony and staff, for taking such good care of my elderly father.  You are so compassionate, and I really am thankful for your great care.
